Linda Blair

Linda Linda LindaLinda Blair was five years young when she became the first child actress to play The Exorcist. She had previously worked as a model over three years and then acted as the child-possessed Regan. Linda Blair quickly rose to fame and won the Golden Globe. She was expected to also win an Academy Award. But when it was revealed that certain scenes were dubs as well as that a stunt-dummy performed eight seconds, that dream went down the drain. Over the next few years she didn't have any trouble getting the lead role in a range of movies, including her highly successful television movies Born Innocent (1974) (the top TV film of the year) and Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic (1975) and the Exorcist sequel Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). They arrested her and gave her three years of probation following the pressure of her friends forced her to buy cocaine when she turned 18 years old. The highly publicized drug bust resulted in Linda to be blacklisted by Hollywood and her acting work was eventually reduced to B-movies, and occasionally TV guest appearances only
